Double Dog Dare is an Athens, Georgia, based flyball racing club. We practice weekly and compete monthly in sanctioned events throughout the Southeast, usually making one tournament a year beyond this area. In addition, we currently host one event weekend a year.
Because we are located in a college town, our membership comprises individuals with varying levels of commitment. We have core members who participate on a regular, almost 100-percent basis, and we have peripheral members who participate as their schedules allow, sometimes on an infrequent basis. Similarly, we have dogs that perform at varying skill levels. We currently field one team of our fastest dogs and balance the remaining talent among our other teams.
We introduce new people to the sport through our 8-week Introduction to Flyball class and use that as a way to build our membership.
